Late arrival information for students joining us in January 2025

If you are unable to arrive in Kingston in time for your course induction, welcome week or first week, it is important that you read the information on this page. Make sure you complete the tasks listed below, so that you can start your university experience without falling behind in your studies.

What you need to do

If you are due to join us at Kingston in January 2025 and think you may miss your course induction or first week of teaching, don't panic! We are here to support you, but it is your responsibility to catch up on what you have missed.

We've put together a guide on what you need to do if you think you will arrive late to Kingston – please read the relevant instructions for your faculty carefully.

You should still make every effort to enrol as soon as possible. While we work with you to get you fully enrolled you should attend welcome and course induction activities and any scheduled classes/lectures.

Tell us if you have arrived late

If you arrive after 13 January 2025 you are counted as "arriving late".

If you know you will be late (or have arrived late), you should contact us to let us know your situation. Make sure you include your full name, K number, course and details of why you are late. Please send your emails to latestarters@kingston.ac.uk.

Complete your enrolment

It's really important to complete the enrolment process if you have not done so yet. Being fully enrolled ensures you are officially a 91福利 student and gives you access to all the systems and support you need to succeed.

Collect your freebie pack

Missed out on your Welcome freebie pack? You can collect one when you pick up your ID card from the Information Centre at either the Penrhyn Road campus (first floor of the Town House) or Kingston Hill campus (ground floor of the Nightingale Centre).

Welcome to Kingston Canvas module

Remember to complete the Welcome to Kingston Canvas module – it contains everything you need to know about the University outside of your course! You can view this module once you have completed online enrolment.

Make contact with your course leader

If you didn't make it to your course induction, you missed some key sessions during Welcome Week – make sure you catch up with your course leader. If you're not sure who it is you can find out on the course page on .

You might also want to check if there is anything specific you might need for your course such as PPE, uniforms or other safety equipment.

Visit them during their office hours or email them.

Access your teaching timetable

You'll need to login using your Kingston email address (kxxxxxx@kingston.ac.uk) and the password you use to access OSIS.

Download the SEAtS App and check in to classes

Ensure you know using your ID card or SEAtS App and that you've read the attendance policy.

Explore Canvas

(the virtual learning environment). You will be able to find all of your course information, modules, reading lists and more.

Attend a library introduction

The library is a key part to your academic careers at Kingston. Make sure you attend a catch-up sessions which you can (the university's event system).

Life, Health and Wellbeing

Register with a doctor

If you have moved (to Kingston or just away from home), you should register with a local doctor (GP Surgery).

The University has an onsite GP surgery –  or view a full list of GP surgeries on the . Do this now – don't wait until you need a doctor as it may delay you accessing key services and support.

Register for disability and mental health support

If you have a diagnosed disability or mental health condition, you should register with the Disability and Mental Health team. They can support you to ensure you have the right support in place to succeed in your studies. .

Check your funding is in place

Please see our web page on how and when to pay your fees. Your payment options are different depending on whether you are a home or international postgraduate student.
